Srinagar: Apni Party Spokesperson, Javid Hassan Baigh, on Tuesday took a strong exception to the re-registration of non-Jammu and Kashmir purchased vehicles.
Issuing a statement here, Baigh said that arbitrary induction of such laws is adding more monetary burdens on the people who are currently bearing the brunt of an economic recession.
“The time chosen for such a move is absolutely awkward especially for the people who are not in a position to afford brand new vehicles from the market. Such a section of the people chooses to go for second-hand vehicles which considerably cheap and freely available outside J&K,” he remarked
Apni Party Spokesperson urged the government to review its re-registration order and slash the registration fee at least by fifty percent on non-JK purchased vehicles.
“The government is supposed to come up with amnesties and remissions at a time when the whole country is trying to come out of the post-covid economic stagnation but the choice to over-burden the people of J&K is a regrettable move,” he observed.
