SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday impressed upon the Lt. Governor led administration to attend to the public grievances that are awaiting redressal in different offices across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to several delegations that called on Apni Party President in Party office at Lal Chowk in Srinagar, Bukhari underscored the need for infusing a sense of accountability in the government office.

He said that citizens from all walks of life are sufferings for want of a people-friendly approach that is unfortunately missing in the government sector. “I appeal to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha Ji to impress upon all the administrative departments to make their field offices responsive and citizen-friendly,” he observed.

The delegations that called on Bukhari included Private Schools Association Shopian, Tipper Owners Association Pulwama and Party units from different parts of South Kashmir.

The Tipper Owners Association Pulwama President Tariq Ahmad extended gratitude to Apni Party President for raising a strong voice against the existing geology and mining policy in J&K. He said that the present mining policy has not only resulted in a complete breakdown of developmental works but has also given rise to the illegal mafia that is unfortunately being allowed to operate at the cost of livelihood of lakhs of local families associated with this sector since ages.

Similarly, another delegation led by Party District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Mir solicited intervention of  Bukhari for exploration of tourism potential of Nagabaren-Tral that can contribute in the holistic development of the area.

“Nagabaren-Tral is an unexplored health resort and has a vast tourism potential. If this place is brought on the tourism map of J&K, the same can prove beneficial for the overall development of the area and generate employment for the local unemployed people,” Mir pleaded.

The Private Schools Association of district Shopian headed by Shabir Ahmad and Abdul Qayoom Shah appealed Bukhari to his office for facilitating a hassle free extension in their Board affiliation renewal process. The delegation solicited the intervention of Bukhari with regard to the penalties being charged on account of failure in submitting the requisite NoCs needed for renewal in a limited period of time.

Bukhari assured the members of delegations that the issues and genuine demands projected by them would be raised before the concerned authorities for their redressal on merit.

Meanwhile, the workers delegations that came from different parts of South Kashmir held detailed discussions with Apni Party President about the measures that are needed to strengthen the Party at the grassroots level.

While giving patient hearing to the suggestions put forth by the delegations Bukhari assured them that all the suggestions and options shall be discussed threadbare and shall be respected and implemented in letter and spirit for the party’s strength and growth on the ground.
