Dir Agri interacts with farmers; asks them to adopt latest techniques in agriculture

JAMMU, APRIL 13:  Director Agriculture, Jammu Hari Krishan Razdan today interacted with the farmers in Majua Uttami, Chak Chimna, Bhagwana Chak, Rehal, Chak Hassal and adjoining areas of RS Pura.

He stressed on the need to adopt multiple cropping systems with vegetable cultivation and application of latest technologies to achieve the goal of doubling the farmer’s income.

He praised the efforts of Rajinder Parshad, a progressive farmer of the area, who has raised cucumber as fourth crop in the cropping sequence of Maize-Paddy-Potato-Cucumber at Majua Uttami on the same field.

He advised the farmers to increase their farm income through adoption of multiple cropping and technological interventions. He directed the field functionaries to make all out efforts to popularize such innovative concepts to increase agriculture production per unit area.

He also assessed the general condition of current Rabi crops including wheat, fodder and vegetable crops.

Later, he inspected Zonal Agriculture Office, Chak Hassal and interacted with the grassroots level field functionaries.

He was accompanied by NK Dubey, Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu, Ram Lal Bhagat, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), Jammu, Jagmohan Bhat, Assistant Botanist, Jammu J.C Raina, SDAO, R. S. Pura, D. D. Bhagat, Subject Matter Specialist, Bhopinder Singh, AEO, Bishnah and Hakumat Rai, AEO, Chak Hassal.
