Srinagar: Kashmir Valley observed spontaneous shutdown on Friday against civilian killings in Kulgam even as authorities imposed restrictions in some parts of Srinagar.
Though no strike call was given by separatist leadership but urged people to hold protest against the killings after Friday prayers.
Shops and business establishments are closed in most parts of Valley including north Kashmir, south and central Kashmir while public transport was off the roads due to the strike, reports said.
There is a spontaneous shutdown in many areas of South Kashmir and north Kashmir’s district. However, no restrictions on the movement of people have been imposed in any area, reports claimed.
The government forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.
Yesterday, Kashmir valley witnessed a shutdown and clashes between protesters and government forces after the killing of four civilians in Kulgam district on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Srinagar Banihal train services have been suspended while internet connectivity was stopped from yesterday in South soon after the news of the killing of four civilians spread in the area.
