Training prog for EOs of Agri deptt held in Sgr

SRINAGAR: The Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department (APFWD) today organized a capacity building cum training program for enforcement officers vis-à-vis sampling and prosecutions under Insecticide Act 1968, Seed Act 1966 and Fertilizer Control Order 1985.

The program was inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal.

The Director on the occasion said that Capacity building is a practice that tends to improve the range of skills and competencies. He said that the department is working to increase the efficiency and capacity building of Law enforcement officers and extension officials of the Law enforcement wing so that the quality inputs are made available to the farmers and growers.

Chowdhary impressed upon participants to utilize the training contents with interest so as to get updated with latest amendments regarding the laws in vogue for strict compliance of the Insecticides Act 1968, Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and Seed Act 1968.

Director stressed upon the Deputy Director Law Enforcement to gear up his field functionaries for intensive checking round the clock, and directed him to send samples drawn immediately to quality control Laboratory for analysis, so that the quality inputs are distributed among the farming community

The Capacity Building Program was attended by all Joint Directors, Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, Agriculture Chemist Kashmir, Assistant Director Law Enforcement, District Law Enforcement Officer and all Enforcement Inspectors of Kashmir Division.
