Jammu: National Investigating Agency (NIA) Thursday said that its sleuths arrested a militant associate from Kishtwar yesterday.
Taraq Hussain Giri, son of Late Ghulam Hassan Giri of Pochhal, was involved in harbouring Hizbul Mujahideen militants and providing them logistical support, NIA said in a statement here.
The accused was arrested “for harbouring and providing logistical support” Hizb militants Osama Bin Javed and Haroon Abbas Wani in the second week of March, 2019 after the militants snatched the service rifle from the escort in-charge of District Magistrate, the statement said.
The accused was produced before the Special NIA Court, Jammu and taken on police remand for five days for further examination.
