DGP chairs Police Academic Council meeting at SKPA Udhampur

Jammu: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, today chaired the Academic Council meeting of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, (SKPAU) and other training institutions at Udhampur.

A police spokesperson said that several decisions to enhance standards of police training institutions in the Jammu and Kashmir were taken, besides the overall functioning of these institutions was reviewed.

“The meeting was attended by ADGsP, A. K. Choudhary, S. J. M. Gillani, A G Mir, Director SKPAU Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal, IGsP, T. Namgyal, M. K. Sinha, Danesh Rana, AIGs of PHQ, Assistant Directors of SKPAU, and Principals of Police Training Schools,” he said.

“While chairing the council meeting, the DGP said that various innovative measures have been taken to enhance the standards of police training institutions in the Jammu and Kashmir. He said that efforts are bringing good results and officers and jawans are receiving better training inputs and becoming well equipped to deliver on any front of policing. New areas of policing are being focused to meet the modern challenges,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson further said: “The meeting discussed to enhance facilities for training staff and trainees including up-grade of the infrastructure, better living facilities in the training campuses, mobility, indoor trainings, and deputations for specialized training courses, medical and sports facilities. New syllabus and duration of courses for different training courses were also discussed in the meeting.”

“The DGP impressed upon the council members to implement the master plans for building infrastructure in the police academy and other training institutions. He also reviewed the up-gradation and renovation of the infrastructure in different police training institutions. The DGP directed that PCD would submit the master plan for the up-gradation of SKPA, Udhampur.  He directed for developing the training institutions of high standards with quality training modules,” he said.

“He directed the officers to remain in constant touch with the well-known training institutions of the Country to identify the courses and training slots for the officers of the UT in these prestigious institutions. On the occasion, council members gave valuable suggestions for improvement of the standards of trainings in these institutions.  Earlier, the Academy song was released by the DGP, J&K,” the spokesperson added.
