73 fresh COVID-19 cases reported across JK

Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir recorded 73 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, bringing the tally to 1,24,019, even as no death due to the virus took place in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 31 were from Jammu division and 42 from Kashmir division, they said. The officials said Jammu district recorded a maximum of 29 new COVID-19 cases, followed by 13 in Srinagar district. While eight districts – Kulgam, Rajouri, Doda, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi did not report any fresh cases, 10 others recorded cases in single digits, the officials said.

The number of active cases stands at 1,103 in the union territory, while 1,20,987 patients have so far recovered from the infection, the officials said. The death toll due to the virus in the UT is 1,929.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 26018 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 261 Active Positive, 25304 recovered (including 21 cases recovered today), 453 deaths; Baramulla has 8084 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 51 Active Positive, 7860 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today), 173 deaths; Budgam reported 7751 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 57 active positive cases, 7577 recovered (including 02 cases recovered today), 117 deaths.

South Kashmir’s Pulwama has 5693 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 61 Active Positive, 5544 recovered (including 03 cases recovered today)and 88 deaths;Kupwara has 5642 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 42 Active Positive, 5505 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today), 95 deaths;  Anantnag district has 4878 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today)with 50 Active Positive, 4744 recovered (including 04 cases recovered today), 84 deaths.

Bandipora has 4687 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with26 Active Positive and 4600 recoveries (including 01 cases recovered today), 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4594 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 79 Active Positive, 4469 recoveriesand 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2689 positive caseswith 33 Active Positive, 2602 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today)and 54 deaths while as Shopian has 2562 positive cases (including 02cases reported today)with39 active positive cases, 2484 recoveries and 39 deaths.
