Amid heavy snowfall, Beacon rescues skidded off mini-bus on Baramulla-Uri highway

Baramulla: Beacon task force of 53 RCC on Saturday rescued a mini-bus along with passengers after the bus skidded off the road due to the slippery conditions on Srinagar-Uri highway near Khanpora.

Witnesses said that a mini-bus ferrying passengers from Baramulla to Sheeri got stuck after skidding off the highway near Khanpora, authorities of BEACON 53 RCC immediately responded and a rescue operation was launched to rescue the mini-bus.

“Machinery and workers were pressed in by Beacon to rescue our mini bus and passengers safely,” said Shakeel Ahmed, Chairman Mini Bus Association Baramulla.

“The mini-bus full of passengers got stuck in heavy snowfall and skidded off the road. WSC team of 53 RCC, Project Beacon on being informed mobilised its resources and carried out the rescue operation,” a Beacon official said.

People and local authorities have hailed the BEACON officials for their prompt response.
