The protesting 1st year students alleged that authorities, despite clear-cut directions from INC to conduct online exams, have not been doing so. The authorities neither conducted exams nor did they announce mass promotion for students as directed by INC, protestors said.

“We have been waiting for exams for three years; I fail to understand as to what makes the authorities to delay our exams. Our future is at stake. We request the concerned authorities to conduct our exams as early as possible,” Shazia, a 1st year Paramedical student told reporters.

She said the aim of holding protest was to convey a message to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to impress upon the authorities to hold online exams of paramedical students at the earliest.

“INC had issued guidelines that our exams be conducted in September last year;  and in case same could not be held (as is the case) well on time, then students be directed to appear in online exams. They also directed that mass promotion be announced if exams could not held for any reason,” Tanveer, another student said.

The students appealed the Lieutenant Governor to look into the issue and issue directions to the concerned authorities for online exams of hundreds of students across Kashmir.
