Srinagar: A sanitary inspector on Monday morning attempted suicide purportedly by consuming some poisonous substance in Tangdhar area of north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said.
The official has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Lone (38), a resident of Handwara.
“It is believed that he has taken some poisonous substance this morning at his residential quarter,” news agency GNS reported quoting the official sources.
“He was airlifted to sub-district Hospital Kupwara for the treatment,” the official said.
Incharge BMO Kupwara, Dr Iqbal said that the person has been referred to a Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
