IGP Kashmir visits Kupwara, interacts with Officers and Jawans

Srinagar: IGP Kashmir Zone Swayam Prakash Pani accompanied by DIG NKR Baramulla Sunil Gupta today visited Kupwara and held a darbar of the  Officers and Jawans at DPL Kupwara.

A police spokesman said that during the Darbar many Jawans put forth their grievances which the IGP promised to look into. IGP Kashmir while interacting with the jawans said that efforts are being made at District, Range and Zonal levels to address the grievances of police personnel in orderly room.

The spokesman said that IGP used the occasion  to make the jawans aware  about the initiatives taken at Zonal level regarding tracking of their GP fund cases and asked the jawans to take full advantage of the welfare schemes initiated by DGP for the speedy and effective redressal of their grievances.

He also advised them to follow proper SOP while discharging law and order duties and to remain careful while performing sensitive duties like  prisoner  escort duties, naka duty etc.

IGP also informed the jawans about several key measures undertaken by the Government related to the housing facilities,  enhanced ex gratia facilities, health policy involving good hospitals for the J&K Police personnel. He also impressed upon the officers and Jawans to ensure people friendly policing.

Terming Police as a big family, he urged the force to ensure fair and professional policing for bridging the gap between community and police.

In the afternoon, IGP also interacted with civil and military officials in the district including Maj Gen C B Punappa, GOC 28 Inf. Div. DC Kupwara and other Army/PMF Officers  and discussed the prevailing Security  scenario in the frontier District.
