Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a “militant associate” of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered some ammunition from his possession.

According to the police, the arrested person has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Reshi, resident of Tral. “He was involved in providing logistic support, shelter, transporting of arms/ammunition and explosive materials in Tral and Awantipora areas,” police said on a statement.

“Incriminating materials including 10 detonators, one wireless set, two wireless antenna, one IED remote and contraband substance (Cannabis powder) weighing 5Kgs have been recovered from his possession,” the statement said.

A case (FIR no. 101/2020) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
