DGP sanctions welfare relief/loan of over Rs.3.5 crore for police personnel

Jammu: Continuing with an aim to provide more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to give financial assistance to meet the urgent needs, Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh sanctioned welfare loan, relief in favour of 345 officers and personnel of J&K Police vide an order issued by PHQ, a Police spokesman said in a statement.

The spokesman said that Rs over 2.9 crore have been sanctioned in favour of 294 personnel to meet the expenses of their own marriage, and marriage of wards. Rupees 52 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of 37 personnel for self-treatment and treatment of their dependents. Eight police personnel have been provided welfare loan for higher education of their wards. Rupees 2.5 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of five police personnel for circumcision, Akhand Path, Mudan of their  wards.

Rupees over 1.5 Lakh as welfare relief has also been sanctioned in favour of ten personnel. The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund, said the spokesman.
