Bahar-I-Adab organises book release function at Pattan

BARAMULLA: To highlight the literary contributions of two well known poets Rasheed Roshan and Gh Hasan Darvesh, Bahar-I-Adab today organised a literary function at Palpora, Pattan.

During the proceedings two poetic collections titled “Khabe Halem” and “Drav Ne Poshe Wathrun Waash” were released.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo, presided over the function as the chief guest whereas a prominent Kashmiri writer and critic Prof Bashar Bashir was present as the Guest of Honour at the event.

The function was organized in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages.

On the occasion, an array of cultural activities were organised wherein some well known poets, literary personalities, critics,  among other prominent stakeholders presented their literary works and highlighted the importance of promoting and preserving rich art and culture.

Deputy Commissioner, in his address applauded the authors for their literary work and said that such efforts play a vital role in the promotion of our Kashmiri language. He said that a diversified art and literature is necessary in our educational curriculum and emphasized upon the writers to continue their endeavors in this regard.

Moreover, DC said that administration is committed to preserve and promote our rich art and heritage besides highlighting the significance of our composite culture.
