Legislators’ delegation meets Dy CM

JAMMU, APRIL 06: A delegation comprising legislators Jewan Lal, Dina Nath Bhagat and Ranbir Singh Pathania today met Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and projected various issues pertaining to welfare and development of Gaddi and Sippi community in their respective areas.

Minister for Social Welfare, Sajad Gani Lone, Chairperson J&K State Commission for Backward Classes Jeet Lal Gupta and representatives of Gaddi &Sippi community were also present on the occasion.

The delegation raised various issues of Gaddi and Sippi Tribes in detail including establishment of Gaddi Sippi Hostels, scholarship to students, due share to ‘Koli’ community under ST Category and other basic amenities of road connectivity, education, health, power infrastructure and drinking water.

Responding to demands of the delegation, the Deputy CM said that government is committed for overall development of tribal community and other weaker sections of the society. He said that several concrete measures have been taken to create durable infrastructure to upgrade the living standard of the people belonging to Gaddi &Sippi communities.

Dr Nirmal Singh further said government is committed to provide all basic amenities including road connectivity, education, health, drinking water to every area of the State. He assured the representatives of tribal community that all their other issues would be redressed in a phased manner.
