Srinagar: Aanganwari Helpers and Workers Union (AHWU) Wednesday staged protests demonstration here to press for release of honorarium which they said was pending since the Centre abrogated special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 05, 2019.

Demanding justice, the protesting helpers and workers shouted at Press Enclave here this afternoon seeking early release of their monthly honorarium.

They said the government, for unknown reasons, has stopped their monthly honorarium ever-since the special constitutional position of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was abrogated.

They said the move has created immense hardships for Anganwari workers, helpers and supervisors, who despite performing their duties are not being paid honorarium.

Protesting Anganwari helpers and workers also said graduate and post-graduate workers and helpers be regularized and their monthly honorarium be released without any further delay.

“We face immense hardships as the government has not released our honorarium since abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A last year. We appeal the administration to resolve this issue at earliest,” they added.
