Police celebrates Rastriya Ekta Dewas across valley

Srinagar: To commemorate the birth anniversary Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Police celebrated Restriya Ekta Dewas/National Unity Day across valley.

The main function was held at Armed Police Complex Zewan where DGP J&K, Dilbag Singh occasion took the salute of parade.

The ADGP Armed, J&K A. K. Choudhary administered oath to the police officers and Jawans of Police, CAPF, Forest Protection Force, Fire and Emergency Services, a Police spokesman said.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the function DGP said that the National Unity Day function along with other similar functions across the country have been organised to pay tributes to the Iron Man of India ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’, the first Home Minister of the country for his contribution in the independence movement of India and integrating more than 550 princely States into one union.

A Police spokesman said that the functions were held all over where the concerned officers took the salute on parade and administered oath of unity to the police officers and jawans.

The officers highlighted the vision, dedication and role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the country and making it as present Independent India.

The functions were held at DPL Awantipora; Shopian; Kupwara; Qamaria ground, Ganderbal; DPL Budgam; DPL Pulwama; DPL Sopore; DPL Bandipora; DPL Handwara; DPL Anantnag; DPL Kulgam and; DPL Baramulla.
