Three BJP activists shot dead in Kulgam

Anantnag: Three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were killed in an attack by unidentified militants at Y K Pora area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday evening.

Sources said that unidentified militants fired at the trio at Y K Pora area while they were traveling in a car.

BJP’s Yuva Morcha General Secretary Kulgam, Fida Hussain Itoo, son of Gh Ahmad of Y K Pora died on the spot while the other two were rushed to emergency hospital in Qazigund.

However, both the injured, identified as Umer Rashid Beigh, son of Abdul Rashid of Sopat and Umer Ramzan Hajan, son Mohd Ramzan of Y K Pora succumbed to their injuries.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has strongly condemned the killings of political workers who were shot dead by the militants in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Expressing his anguish over the killings, the Lt Governor said that the perpetrators of violence are the enemies of humanity and such cowardly acts cannot be justified.

Law shall take its course and the guilty shall be dealt with sternly, he added.

The Lt Governor assured all the possible help from the government to the bereaved families.

He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
