NCC Kashmir resumes training activities

Uri:  Jammu and Kashmir Battalion of NCC is organizing ATC S-1 (Annual Training Camp) NCC training camp at Uri from 18 Oct to 26 Oct 2020 under the aegis of Group Headquarter Srinagar.

A statement issued here said that NCC training camp is being held in this area after almost a decade and security and administrative assistance has been provided by the local army formation of Baramulla and Uri.

“This camp is planned for 110 Boys (SD/JD) NCC cadets from different schools and colleges of Uri, Tangdhar, Kupwara, Bandipora, Sopore, Baramulla and Pattan including Personal Instructor Staff along with civil staff are participating in the camp,” the statement said.

The handout informed that camp started with conduct of Rapid Covid test for all by Medical team under Block Medical Officer of Uri. The basic aim of camp includes reinstating the confidence of conducting a NCC camp in Kashmir.

During this camp, training of cadets will include Physical Exercise, Drill, Weapon Training, Map reading, Motivational talks by decorated army and civil officers. Adventure training like trekking and visit to Kaman Post is also planned during the camp. The cadets shall be educated on preventive measures to defeat Corona virus and remain hygienic (Swach)

Camp Commandant inaugurated the camp by welcoming all cadets and Instructional Staff. He laid emphasis on preventive measures like maintaining social distance, wearing masks, washing of hands regularly and Sanitizing barracks and training area in view of ongoing Covid Pandemic.

The Camp Commandant laid emphasis on positive thinking, self learning, acquiring general awareness, social service and community development activities. He interacted with cadets to laid emphasis to learn and enjoy the camp in salubrious environment of Uri. Cadets were asked to submit feedback regarding the conduct of training and administrative measures at the end of the camp.

Besides the camp at Uri, Gp HQ Srinagar is also conducting several CATC Camps of similar setup at NCC Complex, Srinagar to provide opportunity to cadets from central and south Kashmir to participate.
