‘My Town My Pride’ would be instrumental towards strengthening Urban Local Bodies for rapid dev: Advisor Bhatnagar

BUDGAM: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today maintained that government’s unique initiative ‘My Town My Pride’ programme would be instrumental towards strengthening Urban Local Bodies for rapid growth and development of towns.

“This ambitious programme will connect urban masses with the administration for effective public service delivery and prompt redressal of grievances”, he maintained.

Advisor stated this while addressing a gathering during ‘My Town My Pride’ programme held at Town Hall Magam.

Advisor Bhatnagar said that during these two days of the programme each and every town of Municipal councils of J&K will be visited by the designated officers to assess the development scenario there besides knowing the public issues and aspirations as well. He reiterated that My Town My Pride is aimed at to improve public service delivery and redress the public grievances within the shortest possible time and achieve cent percent saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes in the urban areas.

During the day long programme, the Advisor held an interactive session where several deputations and individuals representing all walks of life put forth their views and pressing problems and sought immediate redressal of the same.

Advisor assured them that all of their genuine issues will be looked into and redressed within a stipulated time frame.

Advisor also gave away certificates to beneficiaries, sports kits  and medals to young sportsmen.

Earlier, students of GHSS presented cultural programs demonstrating significance of education, martial art and development of District Budgam.

Advisor was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Budagm, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, Managing Director J&K Handicrafts (S&E) Corporation, Hashmat Ali Yatoo as visiting officer, SP Budgam Amod Ashok Nagpure, ACR Budgam besides other concerned district officers.
