Dir Agri Kashmir inaugurates Seed Production Office at Lalmandi

SRINAGAR : In an effort to provide the basic facilities and good working environment to the employees, Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today inaugurated a pre-fabricated Seed Production Office at Kitchen Garden Lalmandi, here.

The Director Agriculture on the occasion reiterated the commitment of providing all facilities to the employees so that they can work for the betterment of the farming community without any inconvenience.

Director Agriculture appreciated the efforts put forth by the officers, officials and field functionaries of the department during the crisis time of Covid-19 by reaching every nook and corner of the valley and providing agriculture inputs and technical guidance to the farmers despite health risks.

He stressed upon the officers of the Kitchen Garden Scheme that the Kitchen Garden Scheme should work in a mission mode to promote the vegetable sector of the valley by providing more vegetable seedlings among the growers so that self sufficiency in vegetables is achieved.

He directed the officers and officials of the scheme to upscale cropping intensity of vegetable seedlings as many hi-tech poly houses have already been erected in different kitchen garden farms of the department and ensure maximum outreach among the enthusiastic growers by introducing high value crops of exotic vegetables for better remunerations.

Later Director Agriculture visited all Hi-Tech Poly Houses at the Kitchen Garden and Floriculture Section of the Department.

Among others, Joint Director Agriculture Extension Chowdhary Muhammad Iqbal, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Amir Ud Din Andrabi, Project Coordinator Mushrooms, Seed Production Officer, In-charge Kitchen Garden were present on the occasion.
