Governor, CM congratulate KU, JU for improving NIRF rankings

JAMMU, APRIL 4: Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities, congratulated Prof. Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi and Prof. R.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellors of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities, respectively, for their Universities securing the 47th and 51st positions among the top 100 Universities in the country in the  ranking status assessed by Ministry of Human Resource Development under the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the results of which were announced yesterday.

Governor, who is also Chancellor of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, congratulated Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor for his University being placed at the 94th rank among all the Engineering Institutes of the country. He commended the notable distinction of this University to being among the top 100 engineering institutes of the country within such a short span since its birth.

Governor advised the Faculty, students and staff of these three Universities to continue with their good work and vigorously endeavour to improve their standings at the future national and international assessments.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has complimented Universities of Kashmir and Jammu for improving their positions in the Union HRD Ministry’s rankings, results of which were made official today.

As per the  ranking status assessed by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Union Ministry, University of Kashmir has secured 47th ranking among the universities of the country, upping its position from 73rd last time and the University of Jammu also has improved its position by getting a rank of 51st .

With this, both these Universities have qualified to be ranked among the top 60 universities of the country.

In her message, the Chief Minister, who is also the Pro Chancellor of these Universities, has congratulated the students, research scholars, teachers and administration of these two universities for the good work accomplished with the hope that the same standards are maintained in the next ranking also so that these two premier academic institutions of the State qualify to be ranked among the top notch academic centres of the country.
