Jammu reports 266, Srinagar 228 new positive cases

Srinagar: The tally of Covid-19 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 63990 while as 40957 infected people have recovered so far.

Officials said that 1457 new positive cases of novel Corona virus were reported in the UT – 817 from Jammu and 640 from Kashmir division on Sunday.

They further said that 14 COVID-19 related deaths too were reported in past 24 hours – 09 from Jammu and 05 from Kashmir division.

The fatalities took the death toll past the 1,000-mark.

“692 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals of the UT thus taking the tally of recovered patients to 40957,” said the officials.

“Out of 1396729 test results available, 1332739 samples have been tested as negative till September 20, 2020,” said the officials.

Officials said that 228 positive cases were reported today from Srinagar; 86 from Baramulla; 50 from Pulwama; 19 from Kulgam; 09 from Shopian; 49 from Anantnag; 78 from Budgam; 29 from Kupwara; 35 from Bandipora and; 57 cases were reported from Ganderbal.

Jammu again topped the list of positive cases reporting 266; Rajouri reported 76 cases; Ramban, 65; Kathua, 46; Udhampur, 62; Samba, 33; Doda, 151; Poonch, 60; Reasi, 14 and; Kishtwar reported 44 fresh positive cases.
