SRINAGAR : Family Members of slain Policeman Javied Iqbal met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan here today.

The family members included the sister of the slain, Shabnum Parviez along with Saima Imran, who apprised the Lt Governor about their concerning issues.

The Lt Governor gave them a patient hearing and assured that all their genuine concerns would be taken up for consideration, in a sympathetic manner.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha met Chairman, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee and Provincial President, Apni Party, Jagmohan Singh Raina.

Raina apprised the Lt Governor about the various issues faced by the Sikh community living in the Union Territory and appealed for focussed attention to be paid for the resolution of those issues.  He highlighted the issue of extension of the National Commission for Minorities Act to Jammu & Kashmir for the benefit of minority communities, besides raising several related concerns.

Lt Governor and Raina also discussed various developmental issues especially the need for the tapping of drinking water resources, employment generation under the handicraft sector, among other issues.

The Lt Governor gave a patient hearing to Jagmohan Singh Raina and assured that all the genuine issues would be looked into meticulously and taken up for redressal. He reassured that the UT administration is dedicated towards equitable development and welfare of all sections of the society without discrimination.

In another meeting, Former PDP Youth leader, Political activist, and Ex-Vice Chairman J&K Cements Ltd., Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Yatoo apprised the Lt Governor about different developmental issues including the need for Waste Management of Doodh Ganga, better road network, and a maternity hospital in Chadoora sub division. He also demanded the development and conservation of forest in famous Yusmarg Tourist place, Skill development center at Charar Sharief area for skill training in agriculture, horticulture, and other trades for local youth.

He also informed the Lt Governor about the high expectations of youth from the present administration regarding the issues of education, employment, and other opportunities.

The Lt Governor assured him that all the genuine issues will be looked into on merit. He also urged him to continue his work for the welfare of youth and society.

In a separate meeting, Ex MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Jabbar apprised the Lt Governor about various issues relating to the development of Ganderbal constituency. He also emphasized the need for augmenting road connectivity, electricity, and drinking water facilities, besides other related issues.

The Lt Governor appreciated Jabbar’s concerns and assured him that all the genuine demands and concerning issues will be looked into meticulously for redressal.

He also urged him to continue pursuing the developmental issues of his area devotedly.
