66 travelers among 532 new covid-19 cases take J&K total past 28000 Mark

Srinagar, Aug 15: Sixty-six travelers were among 532 persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24 hours, official sources said on Saturday.

The new cases, 108 from Jammu division and 424 from Kashmir Valley, take the overall tally to past 28000-mark, official sources told GNS.

Giving district-wise break-up of the cases, they said, Srinagar reported 110, Baramulla 36, Pulwama13,
Budgam 40, Anantnag 39, Kulgam 10, Shopian 11, Kupwara 39, Bandipora 81, Ganderbal 45, Jammu 64, Rajouri 2, Kathua 10, Udhampur 4, Ramban 1, Samba 13, Doda 3, Poonch 5, Reasi 5 and Kishtwar 1.

In Kashmir, Srinagar continues to top the list with 6790 cases followed by Baramulla with 2247, Pulwama 2029, Budgam 1754, Kulgam 1698, Shopian 1564, Anantnag 1748, Kupwara 1498, Bandipora 1382 and Ganderbal 894.

In Jammu division, Jammu district has 1907 cases, Rajouri 78-, Ramban 624, Kathua 655, Udhampur 646, Samba 559, Doda 334, Poonch 321, Reasi 270 and Kishtwar 181.

Meanwhile, 734 more covid-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, they said. Among them, 130 were from Jammu division and 604 from the Valley, they said. (GNS)
