Edu institutions to remain shut today

Srinagar, Apr 01: Government has decided to keep all the schools and colleges closed tomorrow (Monday).

An official spokesman of the department said the decision has been taken as a “precautionary measure to avoid law and order situation in the Valley”.

“Keeping in view the prevailing situation, all schools and colleges will remain closed for one day (tomorrow),” he said.

Meanwhile, authorities at Kashmir University, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) have postponed all the examinations and interviews scheduled for Monday (April 02, 2018).

A spokesman of the IUST Awantipora said the class-work will also remain suspended on Monday. “There will be no exams, interviews tomorrow. Class-work will remain off,” he said.

Kashmir University has also decided to suspend class-work and postpone its exams slated for tomorrow (Monday).

“In view of concerns expressed by students, all Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on April 02, 2018 (Monday) are postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately, later,” he said.

“As already notified, the class-work in the teaching departments shall remain suspended on April 2, 2018.”

Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has also postponed all the End Semester Examinations (ESE) scheduled tomorrow.
