Baramulla: Armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy gunfire across the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Boniyar Uri and Karnah frontier sectors in Baramulla and Kupwara district, second ceasefire violation in a week.

Official sources said that Indo-Pak armies exchanged gun fire in Boniyar Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and Karnah sector of north kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Officials sources said that Pakistani troops used heavy mortar shelling and targeted check posts in Boniyar and other posts in Baramulla district on Friday morning.

Indian troops guarding the LoC retaliated befittingly. “Exchange of fire was going on till this report was being filed.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Ab Qayoom said shelling is going on both sides along the line of Control in Boniyar, Baramulla. However there was no immediate report of injuries or casualties.
Sources further said Indo-Pak armies exchanged heavey fire in Gabra, Hajitra, Sadhpora, Dhani area of Karnah sector on Friday morning the locals are scarred and are rushing to safer places to save their lives the exchange of firing was going on when this report was being filed.

However, there were no reports of any casualties, injuries or loss of property.
