Existing system of Stamp duty payment to continue till further orders: Govt

JAMMU: The Government today clarified that the existing system of payment of Stamp duty shall continue to be a mode of payment of stamp duty in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir after issuance of The Jammu & Kashmir Stamps (Payment of Duty by Means of e-Stamping) Rules, 2020, till further orders.

“Doubts have been expressed about continuation of physical stamp vending mode of payment of stamp duty in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after issuance of Notification SO 201 dated 24th June, 2020, regarding, The Jammu & Kashmir Stamps (Payment of Duty by Means of e-Stamping) Rules, 2020.
