Secretary Floriculture inspects progress on 563 kanal Flower Garden, Bohr Camp

JAMMU, MARCH 30:  Secretary Floriculture, Talat Parvez Rohella today visited the ‘Flower Garden’ Bohr Camp, Jammu and inspected the progress on Phase I of the park development project.

Director Floriculture, Babila Rakwal, Joint Director Jammu, Floriculture Officer, AFO, Executive Engineer Floriculture and other concerned officers accompanied him during the visit

He also took detailed stock of the amenities to be developed on the 563 kanal park which  in two phases by the Floriculture department.

During the discussions with the concerned officers, it was decided that the Phase I would include development of various sections including children’s park, rose garden, lake, waterfall, open air theatre and an extensive botanical garden equipped with various indigenous and exotic varieties.

Stressing on importance of developing such public spaces in the city, Secretary asked to make   concerted efforts to ensure time bound completion of this project. He also asked the officers to undertake and expedite the plantation for the park as per schedule.

He said it is very essential to integrate component of physical activities with the parks for people of all ages and provide them with multifaceted recreational options so that parks re-emerge as centers for social gathering, exchange of ideas and learning.

Later he also took stock of the developmental works at floriculture garden at Bagh e Bahu.
