Youth drowns in Doda

Srinagar: A 22-year-old youth drowned in a stream in Doda district of Jammu division on Saturday evening.

Reports reaching GNS said that the youth identified as Waris Ahmad son of Sajid Ahmad Shiekh a resident of Bun village had taken to the stream for bath when the incident happened.

Soon after the news spread, the locals assembled at the spot while teams of Police and local administration immediately started a rescue operation to retrieve the body, reports said.

Meanwhile, confirming the incident, SHO Doda Munir Khan told GNS that a rescue team from police alongside NDRF is on job to retrieve the body from the stream.

However the body was yet to to retrieved, when this report is being filed. (GNS)
