Six persons missing after vehicle rolls down into river in Kishtwar

Srinagar: In a tragic accident, six family members on board a vehicle drowned in Budh Nallah near Garh area of Kishtawar district in Jammu division Thursday.

Reports reaching GNS said that a vehicle on way from Garh towards Paddar skidded-off the road and rolled down into Budh Nallah.

In the incident, the driver of the vehicle Mulk Raj, son of Ram Nath, a head-constable in Armed Police (belt no. ARP 872650) hailing from Garh Padder along with five other family members are believed to have drowned.

The other persons boarding the vehicle have been identified as Muni Devi, daughter of Mulkh Raj, Kailasha Devi, daughter Mulkh Raj, Anamika Devi, daughter of Chuni Lal, Sushalni, daughter of Narinder Kumar, and Sonakshi, daughter of Narinder Kumar, the reports said.

Meanwhile, confirming the incident SDPO Kishtawar Pardeep Sen said a rescue team alongside a crane has been sent to the spot.

“The rescue operation has been initiated and the further details will be shared later on,” he said.(GNS)
