Srinagar: With 154 people testing positive for Covid-19 in J&K, the tally of infected people in the Union Territory has reached 5834.

Out of fresh cases 40 have been reported from Jammu division and 114 from Kashmir, officials said.

“The cases also include a Jammu and Kashmir policeman and 14 CRPF personnel posted in Srinagar,” they added.

Srinagar district in central Kashmir had the highest number of cases – 28, followed by Baramulla at 21 cases, the officials said.

They said Poonch was the only district with no fresh coronavirus case.

With Saturday’s fresh cases, the total number of infected people in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 5,834.

“Of these, 4,488 are in Kashmir, while 1,346 are in the Jammu region,” the officials said.

Meanwhile, 142 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 81 from Jammu division and 61 from Kashmir division, said the officials.

Officials said that out of 5834 positive cases, 2417 are Active Positive, 3336 have recovered and 81 have died; 10 in Jammu division and 71 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 301209 test results available, 295375 samples have been tested as negative till June 20, 2020.

“Till date 251788 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 38424 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 29 in Hospital Quarantine, 2417 in hospital isolation and 46668 under home surveillance. Besides, 164169 persons have completed their surveillance period,” said the officials.
