Sericulture Deptt launches Mulberry plantation drive at Pulwama

PULWAMA, MARCH 29: The sericulture Department Pulwama today carried out a plantation drive on Circle Road Pulwama.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner,  Ghulam  Mohammad Dar said that planting mulberry trees on both sides of the Circle Road will render scenic view to the district.

Highlighting the importance of plantation, DDC said that today the world is facing various environmental problems like global warming, ozone depletion and pollution. He said to mitigate these problems it is important to plant more trees as trees play a significant role in purification and beautification of the environment.

During the plantation drive, District Development Commissioner planted saplings of mulberry trees at Circle Road Pulwama.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, Exen R&B, Assistant sericulture Officer, officials of various departments, besides scores of local people participated in the drive.
