He also said that the cancer patients deserve the best and our plans blend comfortable, spacious facilities, advanced technology and a streamlined convenient care process for an ideal patient experience.

“In addition to the physical expansion and transformations, SKIMS will set its services apart from others with its multi-disciplinary approach to care. In our futuristic vision, each expansion project will create multi-disciplinary clinic, space, where navigating a cancer diagnosis begins with a single, yet comprehensive modality,” he said.

He also said that it is because of the increase in number of patients due to high incidence of cancer, the space was found quite inadequate and would often result into patients waiting.

Prof. M. Maqbool Lone, HOD Radiation Oncology/Nodal Officer for the upcoming State Cancer Institute, Prof. Gul Mohammad, HOD Medical Oncology, Prof. Javid Rasool HOD Clinical Haematology, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Jan, Joint Medical Superintendent, Dr. Haroon Rashid, Assistant Medical Superintendent & Faculty Incharge, Ward Block besides others officers from Engineering/Estates/ Security/Sanitation were also present on the occasion.
