COVID-19: 9 persons discharged from SKIMS Bemina

SRINAGAR: Nine persons were discharged from SKIMS Medical College & Hospital Bemina, a designated COVID-19 Hospital in Srinagar, on Monday after recovery.

With another nine patients, four from District Bandipora, three from Budgam and two from Kupwara were discharged today after full recovery, the hospital has touched to 81 percent recovery rate of patients who were admitted for COVID-19 and the figures are further expected to improve in the coming days.

The hospital besides providing health care on scientific basis and hygienic nutritious food to patients has actively undertaken their psychiatric counseling thereby enabling them to discharge more patients.

The dedicated team of doctors , paramedics , nursing staff , sanitation and security personals are putting up best efforts round the clock and best accommodations by the district administration Srinagar has facilitated the delivery of high quality health care to the COVID patients including some highly co- morbid admitted in the hospital.

The department besides undertaking active testing of patients admitted in the hospital has started receiving samples from district Budgam and Srinagar for testing.

Today 267 samples of district Budgam were tested among which 266 were reported negative while 01 sample turned defective.

Principal SKIMS Bemina, Dr. Reyaz A. Untoo has complimented his staff for taking the challenge of fighting COVID-19 pandemic head-on.

He also put up a message to the general masses for respecting lockdown, maintaining social distance, constant use of masks, hygiene and avoiding social and religious gatherings particularly in view of festive days ahead.
