Secretary Relief & Rehabilitation inspects migrant residential colony at Sheikhpora

BUDGAM, MARCH- 27: Secretary Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Talat Parvez Rohella today inspected the Rs. 30 crore migrant residential project at Sheikhpora Migrant Colony in Budgam.

On the occasion, Secretary conducted physical inspection of quarters and reviewed the progress of work.

During the inspection, Secretary was informed that six quarters as additional transit accommodation are being constructed for the rehabilitation of migrant Kashmiri Pandits, with each building comprising of 16 flats.

They informed that work indulging interior on two building was completed and flats were ready for the accommodation. Officials informed that work on remaining buildings would be completed by next year.

The Secretary directed concerned to ensure all facilities including uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the families to be accommodated in these quarters. He also directed road construction for these residential quarters.

Meanwhile, Talat Parvez also interacted with Pandit families putting up already at different government accommodations at the Migrant colony and directed concerned to ensure better facilities for these families.

The Secretary gave a patient hearing to the grievances of migrants and assured them that all their genuine issues would be addressed on priority.

He assured that each migrant family would be accommodated in quarters with all facilities to be put up in these accommodations flats. He also assured segregation of families of those putting up in sharing flats and assured them of all help for their comfortable stay.

Secretary directed the concerned to conduct a medical camp at Sheikhpora colony and prepare health report of each migrant to provide all medical health care they need.
