On this occasion to boost the confidence in the patients and overcome the stigma unnecessarily attached with this ailment, the Principal SKIMS Bernina, Medical Superintendent (Nodal Officer) and Dr Mubarak Naciash Head COVID-19 management team were present.

Meanwhile, at least thirteen Covid-19 positive patients and six pregnant women suspects from various red zones were discharged from JLNM hospital on Friday after their two repeated samples in forty-eight hours tested negative repeatedly. Nodal Officer of JLNM hospital Dr Bilquies told KNS that the discharged patients were first tested positive on April 21st after which they were kept in quarantine where due medical protocol was followed under the supervision of dedicated doctors and other paramedical staff.

She said that their repeated samples taken on May 4 and 5 tested negative for Covid-19 on May 7. She added that due to communication clampdown across Kashmir Valley, neither hospital authorities could update higher authorities about their recovery nor could provide transport facility for their home return.

“The recovered patients were kept separated from rest of other positive patients till arrangement of transport was done”, Dr Bilquies said. She added that all these patients were asymptomatic and were discharged from JLNM Hospital Rainawari Srinagar after sixteen days.

“Besides this, six (6) pregnant women suspects from various red zones whose deliveries/LSCS were conducted at JLNM and who tested negative afterwards were also discharged today from JLNM Hospital”, Nodal Officer said.
