SRINAGAR: To coordinate the activities of various NGO’s, working across the Valley in Civid-19 Management Programme, the Divisional Commissioner; Kashmir has designated Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes department, Srinagar, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, as Divisional Nodal Officer.

The Nodal Officer will be assisted by Sub Registrar (East), Srinagar, Javeed Ahmad Masoodi, KAS Probationers,  presently working in Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar’s office, Syed Eyaad Qadri and Zahid Rashid.

The decision is part of the guidelines (facilitative steps) that Divisional Commissioner Kashmir set for NGO’s involved in the Covid-19 Management Programme related activities to ensure strict adherence to the social distancing protocol and other Covid -19 related health advisories.

The NGO’s have been asked to intimate the concerned District Magistrate about the details of volunteers, stock and area of operation and seek approval before embarking on any relief operation.

After proper scrutiny the District Magistrate will assign options and areas to every NGO to avoid crowding in any single area which may result in neglecting the other.

There-after the NGO’s can distribute material (medicine and essential commodities) in presence of the field level functionaries.

After distribution of the material/essentials among the people, the concerned District Magistrate will arrange for publicity of such distribution.

The Divisional Nodal Officer will liaison with the NGO’s and the District Magistrates to coordinate such distribution process.

The NGO’s have been asked to ensure strict adhenece to all the advisories issued from time to time regarding the Covid-19 Management, during such activities.
