DM Kulgam visits red zone village Batpora

KULGAM: District Magistrate, Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today visited red zone village Batpora of Tehsil D. H. Pora along-with ADC, Shabir Hussain, Chief Medical Officer, Fazil Kochak, SDM, Umer Shafi, Tehsildar, Niyaz Ahmad and other officers.

Batpora village has been declared red zone, after a positive case was reported earlier from the village and today yet another COVID-19 positive case has been reported from the village.

The CMO informed that  an aggressive testing is in process in all red zones of the district and more than 90 tests have been conducted in Batpora village. He added that the process has been intensified to contain the disease.

On the occasion, the concerned officers informed the DM that all the exit and entry points of the village have been completely sealed.

The DM appealed people to stay at home to break the chain of corona Virus infection and directed the concerned to ensure complete lock-down in the village and ensure that no inward or outward movement takes place in the area.

He directed the officers to intensify the contacts tracing process and urged the people to reveal contact history, if any, as it will be instrumental to breaking the chain of infection.
