Srinagar, Mar 25: The body of a 70-year-old retired Fire Service man was recovered from a well at Lasipoa village of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.
Reports said that the clothes of the man and a torch were found near the well.
He has been identified as Abdul Satar Mir of Sogam, Lolab.
A police officer said the body was retrieved by a team of police and local volunteers.
“Investigations will reveal how the man got into the well,” GNS news agency quoted police as saying.
“Presently his postmortem is being conducted and details of the investigation as they emerge will be shared,” police said.
