Covid-19: 13 fresh positive cases take tally in J&K to 341

Srinagar: As thirteen more people tested positive for COVID-19, all in Kashmir Valley, the number of confirmed cases in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir reached 341on Saturday.

Officials said that out of 341 cases, the total number of cases in Kashmir now stand at 287 while the Jammu division has registered 54 cases so far.

There are 289 active cases in the Union territory, while five patients have died and 47 have recovered from the infection, the officials added.

More than 59,000 people have been kept under surveillance including those who are either in government established quarantine facilities or under home isolation.

“Till date 59,205 travellers and people in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance which include 7,631 people in home quarantine and facilities operated by the government, 260 in hospital quarantine, 281 in hospital isolation and 27,366 under home surveillance. Besides, 23,662 people have completed their surveillance period of 28 days,” the officials said.

Moreover, 09 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged today, 05 from CD Hospital Srinagar and 04 from SKIMS Soura.

The official bulletin said that out of 6937 test results available, 6596 samples have tested as negative till April 18, 2020.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora has 80 positive cases wherein 68 are Active Positive, 11 recovered and 01 has died, Srinagar 78 positive cases with 60 Active Positive, 17 recovered and  01 died, Baramulla 42 positive cases with 40 Active Positive, and 02 died; Kupwara has 27 positive cases and all are active cases; Shopian has 22 positive with 20 Active Positive, 02 recovered; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases and all are Active Positive, Budgam 13 positive cases of which 06 are Active Positive with 07 recovered cases; Kulgam has 05 cases and all are Active Positive; Pulwama 03 positive cases with 02 Active Positive, 01 recovered; Anantnag district has 03 positive case and all are Active Positive.

Similarly, Jammu has 26 positive cases of whom 22 are Active Positive and 04 have recovered, Udhampur 20 positive cases of which 14 are Active Positive, 05 recovered and 01 died, while as Samba district has 04 positive cases and all are Active Positive; Rajouri has 03 positive cases and all 03 cases have recovered. Meanwhile, Kishtwar has only 01 positive case who has recovered.
