Anantnag: One CRPF jawan was killed and another injured on Tuesday when unidentified militants hurled a grenade at a patrolling party and resorted to firing in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Head Constable Shiv Lal Neetam resident of Chhattisgarh of 116 Bn CRPF was killed in the incident in Bijbehara on Tuesday evening.

Shiv Lal was rushed to SDH Bijbehara wherefrom he was referred to GMC Anantnag where doctors declared him brought dead.

Medical Superintendent of GMC Anantnag, Dr Abdul Majeed Mirab told Kashmir Images that the CRPF jawan was declared brought dead at the health facility. He said that he had received critical bullet wounds in his chest.

Meanwhile, immediately after the attack, the security forces launched searches in the area to the nab the attackers.
