Srinagar, Feb 16: Srinagar police on Sunday claimed to have solved a “kidnapping” case of a newborn baby by arresting the accused person involved in the crime.
In a statement today, police said it had received information last night that a day-old baby was stolen from Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar by an unknown person.
During the course of investigation, a police team from Rajbagh Police Station tracked the accused person and arrested him and recovered the new-born baby. After completion of necessary formalities, the new-born baby was handed over to his family, police said.
A case (FIR No. 17/2020) under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Rajbagh.
