Jammu/Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday expressed grief and anguish over the death of residents of Rajouri and Poonch districts in a tragic road accident in Kuwait.
The accident claimed the lives of several residents of Jammu and Kashmir, including people from Thanamandi and Surankote in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
In a condolence message, the Lieutenant Governor said he was deeply anguished by the loss of lives of residents from Poonch and Rajouri in the accident.
“The news of the tragic road accident in Kuwait is heart-wrenching. In this hour of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones. I have directed the officials to extend all possible support to the bereaved families,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief over the death of the residents of Thanamandi and Surankote in the road accident in Kuwait.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and said he shared their pain in this moment of immense sorrow.
He prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and strength to the families to bear the irreparable loss.
The Chief Minister said that the Jammu and Kashmir Government was in close coordination with the concerned authorities to ensure that all necessary formalities are completed at the earliest for the repatriation of the mortal remains.
He assured the affected families that every possible assistance would be extended to them.
