Srinagar: The Meteorological Department has forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next several days, with a gradual rise in day temperatures.
An official of the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said that brief spells of light rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places on April 11, mainly during the late afternoon or evening.
The weather is expected to remain largely dry on April 12, although isolated areas may receive light rain. Dry conditions are likely to prevail across the Union Territory on April 13 and 14.
The MeT office said similar weather is expected on April 15, while scattered rain and thundershowers may occur again on April 16 and 17. Dry weather is then likely to return from April 18 to 20.
The department has advised farmers to resume agricultural operations, stating that maximum temperatures are likely to rise gradually over the next five days.
Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 20.2 degrees Celsius, above the normal of 18.8 degrees, while the minimum settled at 4.6 degrees, 2.3 degrees below normal.
Qazigund recorded a maximum of 20.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 4.0 degrees, while Pahalgam registered 16.6 degrees and 0.2 degrees respectively.
Kupwara recorded a maximum of 19.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 2.2 degrees, while Kokernag recorded 18.6 degrees and 3.4 degrees.
Gulmarg remained the coldest place in the Valley, recording a maximum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of minus 1.9 degrees.
In the Jammu region, Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 28.3 degrees Celsius, 2.1 degrees below normal, and a minimum of 12.4 degrees.
Banihal recorded a maximum of 20.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 4.5 degrees, Batote registered 20.8 degrees and 5.7 degrees, while Katra recorded a maximum of 26.2 degrees and a minimum of 10.9 degrees.
