IT Secretary reviews implementation of Meghraj, Mini SOC

JAMMU: The J&K Information Technology Department today held a review meeting under the chairmanship of its secretary to assess and strengthen the Union Territory’s digital infrastructure, with emphasis on cloud services (Meghraj) and cybersecurity.

The meeting focused on bolstering the MeghRaj Cloud’s efficiency and reliability, directing for the smooth operations, business continuity and high availability for government apps. A streamlined mechanism now ensures timely reporting and resolution of service disruptions.

The Secretary had a detailed review of the progress on the Mini Security Operations Centre (Mini-SOC), which is being developed to strengthen the cybersecurity monitoring and response capabilities. It was emphasized that the facility will function through a structured operational framework with clearly defined roles, responsibilities and protocols.

It was informed that necessary steps are being taken up to deploy appropriate security tools and strengthen the network integration, while parallel efforts are focused on reviewing the IT assets across departments to further enhance the overall security preparedness.

The initiatives reflect the government’s continued commitment to build a secure, resilient and efficient digital ecosystem for improved governance and service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
