A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to the visiting dignitary, followed by a traditional welcome highlighting Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage. The Chief Justice later interacted with senior officials, including members of the judiciary and district administration in Leh.

During his visit, Justice Surya Kant will inaugurate the newly constructed District Court Complexes at Leh and Kargil, as well as the office of the Ladakh Legal Services Authority. These facilities are expected to enhance judicial efficiency and improve access to legal services through modern infrastructure.

In addition, a mega Legal Services Camp and Awareness Programme is being organised to promote legal literacy and outreach among the local population.

The visit is being seen as a significant step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure in the remote region, reaffirming the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring inclusive and effective justice delivery even in geographically challenging areas.

Senior dignitaries present on the occasion included the Chief Secretary of Ladakh, Director General of Police, General Officer Commanding of 14 Corps, Registrar General, and other senior officials from the civil administration, judiciary, Army, and police.
