Srinagar; Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday expressed shock over the attack on National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and sought a thorough investigation into the security lapse that led to the incident.
In a post on X, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) said she was deeply disturbed by the grave attack on the senior political leader.
“Shocked to hear about the grave attack on Dr Farooq Abdullah sahab. Relieved to know that he’s safe and doing well. Hope police gets to the bottom of this very perturbing security lapse,” Ms Mufti said.
Notably, the attack has drawn condemnation from political figures across the spectrum, with many stressing the need for enhanced security for public functionaries in the union territory. (KNS)
