Srinagar: Police in Anantnag have arrested two drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said police arrested Suhail Ahmad Bhat, son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat of Baliyar Marhama at Halmulla, after approximately 4.90 kilograms of Ganja (marijuana)-like substance was recovered from his car.
One Abdul Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Razak Bhat of Bhatpora, Marhama was arrested at K.V. Pora Marhama after approximately 3.74 kilograms of cannabis powder-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in both these instances for further investigation, police said.
